August 1, 2012 -  Attention Booking Agents, Promoters, Venues and to my loyal Fans:

It has come to my attention that there are persons who say they are "Steve Arrington" or that they are the funk group, "Slave" and that "Steve Arrington" is to perform with them, in order to get shows. Then on the day of the show, they say I wasn't able to be there or that I just didn't show up, or at times, someone actually claims to be me.

I do not perform as "Slave", nor perform with any group calling itself, "Slave". In fact, I have not performed with "Slave" since 1982.

To my fans, my shows will always be posted on this site, as well as, my Facebook and Twitter pages (links are at the top of the page).

So yesterday I went to brunch and Steve Arrington was performing with a full band. It was an incredible experience to see proven performers that still had that original groove going on. Sometimes your searching for the memories you had of the groups but he was spot on. This band was tight and left it all on the stage. As Steve gave us funk, rock, soul, and took us to church I was reminded of how singers had a band that was just as important as singers their wardrobe today. Each song transitioned as easy as breathing and the mood followed accordingly. It was a real treat to see that the seasons had treated them well and the music was just as great as the musicians. If he is ever in your city check him out .. we gotta show the ones who laid the tracks just as much love as the ones in the new wifi trains..

November 15, 2010 - NYC was great! Friday, I did a short set with Q-Tip at the Ace hotel in NYC that was bangin as well. Rocked some old and a new joint, "I Be Trippin." This was a totally different crowd than Sat. and they showed the same kinda love as my older fans. Full appreciation mode1 Then, the show Saturday night, what a blessing. Funk no chaser. NY really showed a brother love. I saw musicians I hadn't seen in many years. It was such a blessing hearing the crowd singing the lyrics along with me. Full appreciation mode! June 17, 2010 - I'm vibing on a lot of new and old music, it's a continuous study. I'm very interested in the new music scenes, all of them. I'm always asking younger people, who and what are you listening to. But at the same time, it's essential to study the past as well, as together, these are the building blocks for the future. There is so much to learn and appreciate as the music changes from one generation to the next. Younger and older generations have much to learn from each other, throw the egos aside and let's dance.
